Cape Town to conduct 7-hour power outages from 3 June
The City of Cape Town will implement scheduled seven-hour power outages over four weeks starting 3 June 2025 in areas including Bridgetown, Silvertown, and Bokmakierie to perform essential electricity infrastructure maintenance.
Outages will occur from 8:30 to 16:00 and will affect only specified locations on designated dates, with maps available online for residents to review.
The city advises residents to switch off electrical appliances during outages to prevent damage from power surges and warns that electricity could be restored at any time before the scheduled end time.
This maintenance follows previous power interruptions in May and aims to ensure a stable power supply; the City apologizes for any inconvenience caused.
