Bomb Threat Forces Flight with 442 Hajj Pilgrims to Divert in Indonesia
A Saudia Airlines flight carrying 442 hajj pilgrims from Jeddah to Jakarta was diverted to Kualanamu International Airport in Medan due to a bomb threat received via email.
The Indonesian Directorate General of Civil Aviation reported the threat, which prompted authorities to evacuate the passengers and conduct a bomb sweep on the plane.
The flight was carrying 207 men and 235 women pilgrims, and the diversion was made to ensure safety after the threat was identified.
The aircraft remains in Medan while security checks continue.
