France defender Clement Lenglet has terminated his contract with Barcelona and signed a three-year deal with Atletico Madrid, where he was previously on loan this season.

Atletico announced the signing was a free transfer, keeping Lenglet at the club until 2028.

Lenglet made 34 appearances under Diego Simeone and was recalled to the France squad for the Nations League Final Four.

The contract termination helps Barcelona free up wages to comply with financial fair play rules and pursue new recruits.
