Zelensky proposes three-way meeting with Trump, Putin
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has proposed a three-way summit with former US President Donald Trump and Russian President Vladimir Putin to negotiate an end to Russia’s three-year invasion of Ukraine.
Putin has declined talks without prior agreement, while the US expressed frustration at the lack of progress in peace efforts.
Ukraine recently launched major drone attacks on Russia amid reports of Russia amassing over 50,000 troops near the northeastern border.
Zelensky also urged the US to impose harsher banking and energy sanctions on Russia and is scheduled to meet German Chancellor Friedrich Merz for support discussions.
