Wike-led FCTA pulls down popular estate in Abuja, reason surfaces

The Federal Capital Territory Administration (FCTA), led by Nyesom Wike, demolished part of the Citiscape Villa estate in the upscale Guzape District of Abuja due to violations of building rules, specifically constructing on waterways and green areas.
Felix Obuah, Coordinator of the Abuja Metropolitan Management Council, stated that the developer illegally sold waterways and green spaces to unsuspecting buyers, violating approved building plans.
The estate’s developer, Kadiri Ogbaidi, acknowledged the infractions, attributing some to estate subscribers and pledged to remove the violations within two weeks.
Wike has vowed to continue demolishing illegal structures despite Senate condemnation, as part of efforts to protect development and government lands in Abuja.
