Wike apologies over Rivers women walkout on first lady, doubts Fubara’s reconciliation move

The visit followed a public incident where women walked out on Theresa Ibas, wife of the Rivers Sole Administrator, during a First Lady’s empowerment event, demanding representation by Governor Fubara’s wife instead.
Wike condemned the walkout as a deliberate insult to the First Lady and Nigeria’s presidency, apologizing for the conduct and urging Fubara to demonstrate genuine peace efforts.
The political feud, which led to Fubara’s suspension and emergency rule in Rivers, involves disputes over assembly loyalties, impeachment proceedings, and federal interventions.
