We were not elected to fight Tinubu – Akpabio
Senate President Godswill Akpabio emphasized that lawmakers are elected to collaborate, not confront the Executive, promoting policies for Nigeria’s development.
He highlighted the cordial relationship between the National Assembly and the Executive under President Bola Tinubu’s administration, noting all key leaders were former senators.
The National Assembly is working on legislation prioritizing procurement of locally assembled vehicles and reviving key sectors like textiles and agriculture to reduce import dependence.
Akpabio rejected claims that the legislature is a rubber stamp, citing instances of rejected presidential nominees and a commitment to pro-people laws supporting the administration’s reform agenda.
