President Bola Tinubu held a private meeting with Dr. Zacch Adedeji, Executive Chairman of the Federal Inland Revenue Service (FIRS), following the FCT Minister’s directive to seal a FIRS office in Abuja over alleged unpaid ground rent spanning 25 years.

FIRS condemned the closure as unprofessional and criticized the Federal Capital Territory Administration’s handling of the issue, while the presidency aims to resolve the tension and maintain inter-agency cooperation.

Additionally, President Tinubu met with key ministers including those overseeing finance, solid minerals, and budget, as well as with Borno State Governor Babagana Zulum and the SEDC CEO Mark Okoye II, who outlined plans to develop the South East into a $200 billion economy.

These engagements align with Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda and the national vision of achieving a $1 trillion GDP by 2035.
