President Bola Tinubu has praised Prince Sam Amuka-Pemu, publisher of Vanguard media, on his 90th birthday, calling him an elder statesman and illustrious figure in journalism.

Prince Amuka-Pemu started his career at Daily Times, co-founded The Punch, and established Vanguard newspaper in 1984, which remains influential.

Tinubu conferred on him the national honor of Commander of the Order of the Niger (CON) for his impactful contributions to journalism and leadership.

The President encouraged younger journalists to emulate Amuka-Pemu’s dedication, resilience, and integrity in the media industry.
