Time Magazine names Aliko Dangote among Top 100 Philanthropists in the World
Aliko Dangote, President and CEO of Dangote Industries Limited, has been named in the inaugural 2025 TIME100 Philanthropy list as one of the 23 Titans, recognizing his significant philanthropic impact globally and as the only Nigerian on the list.
The Aliko Dangote Foundation, endowed with $1.25 billion, invests approximately $35 million annually in initiatives across Africa focusing on nutrition, health, education, and economic empowerment, including a $100 million project to combat childhood malnutrition and past contributions to polio eradication in Nigeria.
Dangote has also made substantial donations to Nigerian education, such as $10 million to Aliko Dangote University of Science and Technology and the largest individual university donation in Nigeria’s history, supporting infrastructure and vocational training programs.
This recognition places Dangote alongside other global philanthropic leaders like Oprah Winfrey, Michael Bloomberg, and Melinda Gates, highlighting his commitment to fostering African leadership and societal development through long-term investments.
