Tesla Cybertruck loses top-selling EV truck crown

For the first time, Ford’s F-150 Lightning overtook Tesla’s Cybertruck as the best-selling electric pickup truck in the U.S. in Q1 2025, with 7,913 registrations compared to Cybertruck’s 7,126.
Cybertruck sales have declined for two consecutive quarters, dropping from 16,692 units in Q3 2024 to 12,991 in Q4 2024, and now down to 7,126 in Q1 2025.
Despite Tesla introducing a more affordable Long Range Cybertruck model, it remains to be seen if sales will rebound.
Overall, electric pickup trucks have struggled to meet initial sales expectations, and Tesla’s global sales are also declining, awaiting a hopeful redesign of the Model Y.
