Sterling One Foundation Drives Community Action Against Plastic Pollution in Nigeria
The Sterling One Foundation is actively combating plastic pollution in Nigeria through community-led beach cleanups and strategic partnerships, having removed over 9,000 kilograms of waste from more than five beaches since 2021.
CEO Olapeju Ibekwe emphasized the Foundation’s efforts to enhance coastal resilience, protect vulnerable populations, and promote sustainability linked to economic opportunities.
The Foundation will participate in the World Environment Day convening and the Africa Social Impact Summit in 2025 to advocate for financing youth green entrepreneurship and climate resilience solutions.
SOF integrates gender equality and partnerships into its broader mission addressing poverty, health, education, climate action, and food security in Nigeria and Africa.
