South Africa rearrests Nigerian pastor Timothy Omotoso acquitted of r@pe

Timothy Omotoso, a Nigerian televangelist acquitted of multiple r@pe charges in April 2025, has been rearrested on immigration violations in South Africa.
Omotoso was initially jailed for nine years pending trial on 32 charges, including r@pe, sexual exploitation, and human trafficking involving young women from his church.
The Eastern Cape High Court acquitted him due to prosecutorial mishandling, though the judge found his explanations improbable.
The South African police arrested Omotoso in East London, and he is set to appear in court on Monday for charges related to immigration infractions.
