Simon Ekpa, a pro-Biafran agitator, appeared in the Päijät-Häme District Court in Finland facing terrorism-related charges linked to his online activities allegedly coordinated from Finland.

Finnish prosecutors are seeking a six-year prison sentence, accusing Ekpa of participating in a terrorist organization and inciting crimes for terrorist purposes, with investigations conducted jointly by Finnish and Nigerian authorities.

Ekpa denies the charges, which also include suspicions of ordering weapons and allegations of aggravated tax fraud, while his lawyer questioned the credibility of information originating from Nigeria.

Finland’s Foreign Affairs Minister confirmed that Ekpa’s case falls within their judicial system, highlighting the international dimension of the trial.
