PSG becomes first elite football club with Bitcoin reserve
Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) has become the first elite global sports club to hold Bitcoin as part of its corporate treasury, starting a discreet conversion of fiat reserves into Bitcoin in 2024.
The announcement was made at the Bitcoin 2025 conference in Las Vegas, highlighting Bitcoin as a hedge against inflation and aligning with PSG’s innovation goals.
PSG plans to expand its innovation hub, PSG Labs, to support Bitcoin and Web3 startups, complementing its existing crypto partnerships and NFT initiatives.
This move reflects PSG’s strategy to engage its predominantly young, tech-savvy fanbase and could signal a growing trend of digital asset adoption in sports finance.
