President Tinubu departs for Lagos to mark ECOWAS 5Oth Anniversary and commission projects
President Bola Tinubu will travel from Abuja to Lagos on May 26 to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS), where he will highlight the bloc’s milestones.
The event includes reenacting the 1975 ECOWAS declaration at the Nigerian Institute of International Affairs, featuring contributions from former Minister Prof. Bolaji Akinyemi and retired Gen. Yakubu Gowon, the only surviving original signatory.
During his Lagos visit, President Tinubu will commission key infrastructure projects including sections of the Lagos-Calabar Coastal Highway and the Lekki Deep Sea Port road, with some projects commissioned virtually.
The President will also observe Eid-el-Kabir prayers at Dodan Barracks before returning to Abuja.
