Peter Obi Warns Nigerian Youths Against Get-Rich-Quick Syndrome, Urges Focus on Skill and Entrepreneurship
Former Labour Party presidential candidate Peter Obi has criticized the ‘get-rich-quick syndrome’ prevalent among Nigerian youths, urging them to focus on value re-orientation.
Speaking at the Amatutu Community Entrepreneurship and Empowerment Summit in Anambra State, Obi encouraged young people to pursue skill acquisition, trading, and entrepreneurship instead of unlawful activities to gain wealth.
He cited his father’s wealth in 1957, owning three Mercedes-Benz cars and other properties, highlighting that those assets no longer exist today.
Obi emphasized the importance of understanding life simply to avoid the desperation of accumulating wealth by all means, advocating for meaningful and sustainable living.
