A Magistrate court in Ede, Osun, has ordered the remand of Jimoh Abdulkabir, the suspended Loogun of Edeland, over allegations of defamation against Adam Akindere.

Abdulkabir faces four charges including defamation, cyberbullying, and threats for allegedly posting defamatory statements on WhatsApp about Akindere’s land sales.

Though he pleaded not guilty, evidence presented by the Police Prosecutor led to the court’s decision to remand him; his defense attorney requested bail citing medical reasons.

The suspended chief was previously removed by the Timi of Ede, Oba Munirudeen Lawal, for disrespect and alleged land grabbing, with the case adjourned to June 19, 2025.
