Nvidia CEO says Chinese AI researchers are ‘world class’ — and US companies are hiring ‘a whole bunch’ of them
Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang praised Chinese AI researchers as “world class,” highlighting that US AI companies like Anthropic and OpenAI actively recruit them.
He emphasized the importance of international competition for innovation but warned against restrictive US regulations that may hinder American progress in AI technology.
Huang criticized the Biden-era “Diffusion rule,” designed to limit AI chip exports, which was recently rescinded, stating it would have disadvantaged the US as competitors catch up.
He also advocated for American companies to compete in China’s large market to foster economic growth and maintain leadership in AI development.
