Nigerian Student Unions Retract Protest Plans, Apologize to NMDPRA and Opt for Dialogue
Nigeria’s two major student unions, NANS and NAPS, have withdrawn their plans for mass protests against Engr. Farouk Ahmed, CEO of the NMDPRA, following further investigations.
Initially, the unions accused Ahmed of mismanagement and abuse of office, demanding his resignation.
Both unions apologized for relying on unverified information and expressed readiness to work collaboratively with the NMDPRA to improve communication and address concerns.
They emphasized dialogue over confrontation and reaffirmed their commitment to transparency, accountability, and peaceful engagement.
