Nigerian Senate Passes 96 Bills, Adopts 18 Petitions in First Two Years – Akpabio
Senate President Godswill Akpabio announced that the 10th Senate of Nigeria has introduced 844 bills, passing 96 within its first two years.
Of the bills passed, 52 have been signed into law by the president, including key legislations on education, local government autonomy, tax reform, and agriculture.
The Senate also adopted 18 petitions from 80 received, showcasing public trust and institutional accountability.
Akpabio highlighted the Senate’s active legislative role and collaboration with the executive by reviewing 26 executive bills.
