Dr. Bosun Tijani, Nigeria’s Minister of Communications, Innovation, and Digital Economy, announced the commencement of a N3.3 trillion investment to deploy 90,000 kilometers of fiber optic infrastructure and 7,000 telecom towers nationwide starting in Q4 2025, aiming for 98% connectivity coverage.

The telecommunications sector has seen significant growth under President Bola Tinubu, with Foreign Direct Investment rising sharply to $191 million in Q1 2024 from $22 million a year earlier, supported by workforce development through the Three Million Technical Talent program.

Finance Minister Wale Edun emphasized the capital market’s strategic role in achieving Nigeria’s $1 trillion economy target by 2030, highlighting recent regulatory reforms such as the Investment and Securities Act 2025 and the new Capital Market Master Plan.

Moreover, Minister of Budget and Economic Planning Senator Abubakar Bagudu reported positive progress in economic reforms, supported by the World Bank, while analysts predict the Central Bank of Nigeria will likely hold monetary policies steady amid inflation concerns.
