  • NDLEA intercepted opioids worth over N3.2 billion at Lagos’ Apapa seaport and Port Harcourt’s Onne port, seizing 3 million pills of tapentadol and carisoprodol and 169,800 bottles of codeine syrup.
  • The seizures were carried out based on intelligence and in collaboration with other security agencies including Nigeria Customs Service.
  • Additional drug busts included cocaine concealed in female headgear in Lagos, as well as arrests linked to skunk and other narcotics in Niger, Kaduna, Taraba, and Jigawa states.
  • NDLEA Chairman Brig.-Gen. Buba Marwa commended the officers for their efforts in reducing drug supply and demand across Nigeria.
