NAPS Hails Tinubu’s Historic Education Funding and Technical Training Revolution
The National Association of Polytechnic Students (NAPS) praised President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for transformative efforts in Nigeria’s education sector, especially in technical and vocational education and training (TVET).
NAPS highlighted significant budget increases, including a historic N2.52 trillion allocation for education in 2025 and N120 billion dedicated to TVET, emphasizing a shift toward practical learning and productivity.
The association also commended increased funding to agencies like TETFund and NELFUND, which have supported hundreds of thousands of students, and lauded reforms to curricula promoting hands-on learning.
Furthermore, NAPS welcomed initiatives such as the 3 Million Technical Talent program and the $617.7 million Investment in Digital and Creative Enterprises (iDICE) to prepare youth for the digital economy.
