NADDC Launches Policies To Boost Local Car Production, Regulate Nigeria’s Auto Industry
The National Automotive Design and Development Council (NADDC) has commenced formulating policies to promote Nigerian-made cars and regulate the automobile sector.
The Director General, Oluwemimo Osanipin, emphasized the registration of vehicle importers, distributors, and dealers to ensure safety and environmental standards while combating smuggling and unsafe imports.
Stakeholders including the Nigeria Automotive Manufacturers Association and the Association of Motor Dealers of Nigeria stress that regulation is vital for industry growth, public trust, and security.
The initiative supports President Bola Tinubu’s policy encouraging patronage of locally produced automotive products to boost the Nigerian economy.
