The Nigerian Army’s Operation Hadin Kai conducted a coordinated land and air assault on Boko Haram terrorist positions in Bita, Borno State, resulting in the reported neutralization of at least 60 terrorists.
The operation took place in the early hours of May 30, according to a statement from the Army Headquarters on Facebook.
Recent military engagements in Borno have also seen dozens of Boko Haram and ISWAP insurgents killed, though the military sustained losses with two soldiers killed in an earlier encounter.
The announcement has sparked mixed reactions online, with some expressing skepticism over the lack of photographic evidence, while others praise the military’s efforts against terrorism in the region.
