Madam Malinda Mgbafor Okereke, known as Mama Nsu Bekee and the last surviving female twin rescued by Scottish missionary Mary Slessor in Arochukwu, Abia, has died at 115.

Born around 1800 when twin births were taboo and often met with killings, she and her twin sister were saved and raised by Slessor after the abolition of such practices.

Under Slessor’s care, they received formal education and became proficient in English, earning Madam Mgbafor her nickname.

She passed away on March 5 after a brief illness, survived by family including children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.
