Lagos PDP Dismisses Defectors as Inactive Members, Says They Won’t Be Missed
The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Lagos State expressed indifference towards the defection of several party leaders to the All Progressives Congress (APC) on Monday.
PDP Vice Chairman for Lagos Central, Mr. Hakeem Olalemi, stated that the defectors had been inactive members for the past two years and were no longer considered part of the party.
Among those who left were prominent figures such as State Publicity Secretary Alhaji Hakeem Amode, former PDP deputy governorship candidate Alhaja Safurat Abdulkareem, and others including several 2023 Lagos State House of Assembly candidates.
Olalemi affirmed the party’s resolve to move on without the defectors, emphasizing that their departure was not surprising to Lagos PDP leadership.
