Kano LGs To Contribute N670m For Emir Sanusi’s Vehicles
Image Credit: tori- The Kano State government has instructed its 44 local government areas to contribute a total of N670 million for the repair and purchase of vehicles for the Emir of Kano, Alhaji Muhammadu Sanusi.
- The funds will be used to refurbish two vintage vehicles and buy four new luxury vehicles including models from Toyota and a Cadillac limousine.
- The directive, detailed in a March 25, 2025 memo, mandates the deductions from the State/Local Government Joint Account and involves the company Sottom Snergy Resources Ltd for the procurement and repairs.
- The approval has sparked criticism from political figures who argue the expenditure is a misplacement of priority given ongoing issues such as water scarcity and underfunded health and education sectors in Kano.
