JUSUN President Confirms Review Meeting Amid Supreme Court Workers’ Non-Strike Stance
Mr. Marwan Adamu, National President of the Judiciary Staff Union of Nigeria (JUSUN), confirmed that union organs will meet to review and decide on actions regarding the ongoing strike following mixed compliance among workers.
While JUSUN declared a nationwide strike from June 1 over unpaid wage awards and the non-implementation of the N70,000 minimum wage, Supreme Court and National Judicial Council workers reportedly did not join the strike, continuing normal operations.
Adamu emphasized there is no leadership division within JUSUN and that any chapter’s refusal to strike should be explained by those chapters themselves, noting ongoing negotiations involving the Chief Justice of Nigeria and the Ministry of Labour.
The Supreme Court chapter stated that joining the strike would undermine efforts made by the Chief Justice of Nigeria to resolve the issues, urging patience and support for ongoing discussions.
