JAMB 2025 UTME results the best since 2017 amid resit and exam integrity concerns
The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) released the 2025 UTME resit results, revealing the best candidate performance since 2017, with notable increases in high scores compared to 2024.
The resit addressed technical glitches affecting over 300,000 candidates during the initial exam, primarily in Lagos and South-East Nigeria, leading to widespread criticism and calls for accountability.
Despite the improved results, concerns about absenteeism, exam fraud, and regional disparities remain, with JAMB announcing a mop-up exam for missed candidates and emphasizing exam fairness.
The incident has fueled debates on the reliability of Nigeria’s examination system and calls for systemic reforms for transparency and integrity.
