Jaguar Says It Has No Intention of Manufacturing Cars in the U.S.
Jaguar Land Rover has confirmed it will continue producing cars in the UK and has no plans to manufacture vehicles in the United States despite the impact of President Trump’s 25% tariff on imported cars.
The company temporarily paused shipments to U.S. dealers earlier this year while reassessing its strategy, cushioning the impact by stockpiling vehicles at dealerships.
As the U.S. remains the second-largest export market for British-made cars, the tariffs present significant challenges for JLR and the wider British auto industry amid trade policy uncertainties.
Jaguar Land Rover’s commitment to UK production highlights its loyalty to its manufacturing roots, although its future will depend on the duration of tariffs and potential trade agreements between the U.S. and UK.
