Samsung is rumored to use its first 2nm chip, the Exynos 2600, in some Galaxy S26 and S26+ models next year, marking a return to its dual-source strategy alongside Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 2 for other regions.

The Exynos 2600, designed by Samsung’s System LSI division and fabricated on its latest process node, may feature an AMD RDNA4-based GPU and is expected to enter mass production in the second half of 2024.

If launched as planned, Samsung will be the first to market a 2nm chip ahead of Apple, MediaTek, and Qualcomm, whose 2nm processors are anticipated in 2026, setting competition with TSMC’s 3nm chips used by MediaTek and Qualcomm.

This move could boost Samsung’s semiconductor division, improving profitability and reinforcing its leadership in the smartphone market.
