FG To Overhaul NYSC, Launch Teachers’ & Medical Corps - NYSC - Nigeria

The Nigerian Federal Government has initiated a comprehensive overhaul of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) to enhance its safety, infrastructure, and relevance to today’s socio-economic environment.
A committee comprising government, civil society, and private sector representatives was inaugurated to review NYSC policies and recommend improvements aligned with national development goals.
The government also plans to launch new Teachers’ and Medical Corps aimed at deploying NCE graduates and healthcare workers to underserved rural areas to address educational and health service gaps.
The changes intend to empower youths, strengthen national unity, and improve the impact of the service scheme on community development and youth employment.
