FG to commission ‘completed part’ of phase one Lagos-Calabar Coastal highway today
The Minister of Works, Engr. Dave Umahi, announced that the completed portion of Phase I, Section I (30 km) of the Lagos-Calabar Coastal Highway will be commissioned on May 31, 2025, at Jakande Estate in Lagos State.
President Tinubu is expected to virtually commission this alongside other major infrastructure projects in Southern Nigeria, including roads and bridges across states such as Rivers, Cross River, and Enugu.
The Coastal Highway project, a vision initiated by President Tinubu 27 years ago, aims to enhance transportation, regional integration, and socio-economic development along Nigeria’s coastal communities.
It is part of the Renewed Hope Legacy Projects intended to foster resilient and inclusive growth within the region.
