FG orders JAMB to blacklist cheating candidates and complicit CBT Centres
The Nigerian Federal Government has directed major examination bodies including JAMB, WAEC, NECO, and NABTEB to blacklist candidates and Computer-Based Test (CBT) centres involved in examination malpractices.
This move follows the 2025 UTME exam cheating revelations where over 3,000 candidates were implicated in frauds such as hacking CBT systems and collusion with hired exam takers.
Offenders will face a three-year ban from all national exams enforced via their National Identification Number, while complicit CBT centres and schools will be derecognized.
The directive is supported by the Examination Malpractices Act and aims to restore integrity to Nigeria’s education system with strict legal actions and collective responsibility urged across stakeholders.
