FG approves new verification platform for NIN
Image Credit: ladunliadinews- The National Identity Management Commission (NIMC) has launched NIN Authentication (NIN AUTH), a new service for safer and easier verification of National Identification Numbers.
- The service allows Ministries, Departments, and Agencies (MDAs) to perform identity checks via web, mobile apps, or API, ensuring data privacy and security.
- NIN AUTH supports W3C Decentralized Identifiers and Verifiable Credentials, enabling users to have portable and universally accepted digital identity verification.
- This initiative aligns with President Bola Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda to improve identity management in Nigeria.
