Eid El Kabir Fire Destroys Hundreds of Shops in Kano’s Popular GSM Market
Image Credit: informationngA fire broke out on Eid El Kabir day at the Farm Center GSM Market in Tarauni, Kano State, destroying hundreds of shops and causing losses worth millions of naira.
The blaze started around 2:00 pm in the Dan Sileka building within the market, affecting shops primarily dealing in mobile phones and accessories.
Fortunately, no casualties were recorded due to low market traffic during the celebrations.
Market association treasurer Hassan Saminu indicated the fire likely began from a spark caused by a solar battery and electrical connections.
