EFCC Issues Fresh Warning to POS Operators
- The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has cautioned Point of Sale (PoS) operators in Nigeria to adhere strictly to Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) regulations, especially regarding Know Your Customer (KYC) protocols.
- Bawa Kaltungo, Acting Director of the EFCC Kaduna Zonal Directorate, emphasized collaboration with the EFCC to combat money laundering and financial crimes.
- The Association of Mobile and Bank Agents of Nigeria (AMBAN) chairman, Mohammed Bala, highlighted the risks PoS operators face and introduced a membership website for easier identification.
- The EFCC warned operators to avoid becoming victims of fraudsters, as PoS services are highly attractive to criminals.
