The South African Weather Service has issued an alert for strong and damaging winds in parts of KwaZulu-Natal on Wednesday as a cold front moves across South Africa.

Other regions including the Western Cape, Eastern Cape, Northern Cape, Free State, and Lesotho will experience temperature drops, heavy rain, and possible snow in mountainous areas.

Forecaster Tokelo Chiloane advised residents to take necessary precautions, especially those in coastal and mountainous regions.

The cold front is expected to bring isolated to widespread showers with possible disruptive rainfall and high waves across parts of the country.
