ChatGPT Switches Default Model to GPT-4.1 Mini for All Users, Subscribers Get GPT-4.1

OpenAI has integrated the GPT-4.1 model into ChatGPT, making it available immediately to Plus, Pro, and Team subscribers, with Enterprise and Education users to gain access soon.
The default model for all users, including free accounts, has been upgraded from GPT-4o mini to GPT-4.1 mini, which supports a one million token context window, significantly larger than previous versions.
GPT-4.1 offers improved speed and enhanced capabilities, especially excelling in coding tasks and instruction following.
The deployment follows safety evaluations and a release to developers, with integration expected to enhance related applications such as Apple’s Siri when using ChatGPT extensions.
