ChatGPT is getting an AI coding agent
- OpenAI has introduced Codex, an AI coding agent available to ChatGPT Pro, Enterprise, and Team subscribers starting Friday.
- Codex aims to be a “virtual coworker” for engineers by generating, fixing, testing, and suggesting improvements to code based on natural language prompts.
- Currently integrated in ChatGPT’s web app, Codex operates in a sandbox without internet access to enhance security.
- OpenAI plans to charge for Codex access in the future after evaluating user demand.
