Canada discussing joining US ‘Golden Dome’ missile defense plan: Carney
Canada is engaged in high-level discussions with the United States about joining President Donald Trump’s proposed “Golden Dome” missile defense system, according to Prime Minister Mark Carney.
The system aims to protect against various threats, including intercontinental ballistic missiles, hypersonic and cruise missiles, and drones, with a planned readiness in about three years.
Canada acknowledges the growing missile threats and takes them seriously, while remaining a partner in continental defense through NORAD.
Additionally, Canada is diversifying its security partnerships, negotiating with European allies and collaborating on Arctic radar development with Australia.
