Bill Gates to give away fortune by 2045, $200bn for world's poorest

Bill Gates pledged to donate nearly his entire fortune, estimated at $108 billion, over the next two decades, aiming to give approximately $200 billion to the world’s poorest through the Gates Foundation by 2045.
The move comes amid significant cuts to international aid by governments including the US, UK, and France, with Gates emphasizing the need to tackle preventable diseases, reduce poverty, and save lives.
The Gates Foundation, established in 2000 and jointly founded with Melinda French Gates and Warren Buffett, has already donated $100 billion and plans to spend most of Gates’ wealth before closing by the end of 2045.
Despite its large influence in global health, the foundation faces criticism for accountability issues, but Gates encourages other wealthy individuals to increase their philanthropic efforts for impactful global progress.
