Beyoncé Receives Cease-and-Desist From Sphere Over ‘Cowboy Carter’ Tour Footage: Reports
Image Credit: rollingstone- The owner of the Sphere venue has sent Beyoncé a cease-and-desist letter over unauthorized footage showing her holding a depiction of the Las Vegas venue during her Cowboy Carter tour.
- The letter, addressed to Beyoncé’s production company Parkwood Entertainment, claims the use of the Sphere’s image misleads fans and was done without permission from Sphere Entertainment Group.
- Sphere CEO James Dolan, who previously attempted to negotiate a Beyoncé residency, was reportedly upset by the unauthorized use, while Beyoncé will perform at Las Vegas’ Allegiant Stadium this summer.
- The letter states other aspects of the video were cleared with rights holders, but the Sphere venue’s prominent appearance and manipulation were not authorized.
