At least 43 people were killed in fresh attacks on communities in Gwer West and Apa Local Government Areas of Benue State, Nigeria.

The attacks occurred Sunday evening, with gunmen storming Tse Antswam in Gwer West and Edikwu Ankpali in Apa LGA, resulting in numerous deaths and injuries.

The local traditional ruler and government officials expressed concern over the brazenness of the attacks despite nearby military presence.

Benue State Police confirmed the attacks and have deployed tactical teams for intervention, though casualty figures remain incomplete.
