Alhaji Mujahid Asari Dokubo, newly recognized Paramount Ruler of Elem Kalabari in Rivers State, has pledged to restore the ancient kingdom to its former international prominence after 140 years of abandonment.
Governor Siminalayi Fubara officially presented Dokubo with the staff of office in December, marking a renewed era for Elem Kalabari, the ancestral home of all Kalabari people.
During his 61st birthday celebration, Dokubo emphasized ongoing development efforts and cultural revitalization, declaring that the kingdom is coming back to life and will be put back on the global map.
Organizing Committee Chairman Sobomabo Jackrich noted visible progress since their return five months ago, with projects underway and no major challenges encountered, signaling a significant turning point for the community.
