APC Governors Unite to Endorse Tinubu’s State Policing Against Nigeria’s Escalating Insecurity

The agreement followed a joint meeting of the Progressive Governors’ Forum and Nigeria Governors’ Forum after Tinubu’s visit to Benue State, where a recent violent attack killed over 200 people.
Imo State Governor Hope Uzodimma described the plan as a proactive security strategy, citing Imo State’s success in community-based policing emphasizing intelligence and engagement.
While awaiting formal presidential directives, governors pledged to fulfill their constitutional duties to protect lives and property, providing political support to Tinubu’s decentralised security approach.
