Amaechi: APC Wouldn’t Have Won 2015 Elections If Yakubu Was INEC Chairman
Former Rivers Governor Rotimi Amaechi criticized the current Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) chairman, Mahmood Yakubu, saying he would have hindered the All Progressives Congress (APC) from winning the 2015 elections if he had been in charge then.
Amaechi praised former INEC chairman Attahiru Jega for his transparency, which facilitated APC’s registration and victory in 2015.
He accused Yakubu of bias and suggested that the electoral institution has been used as a tool for political manipulation under his leadership.
Amaechi compared Yakubu unfavorably to Jega and a former chairman named Iwu, highlighting concerns about regression in election management.
