Court Jails Man 6 Months For Failing To Declare £8,020, $704 At Lagos Airport
- Agudosi Okechukwu was sentenced to six months imprisonment for failing to declare £8,020 and $704 to the Nigerian Customs Service at Lagos Airport.
- The businessman pleaded guilty to money laundering charges brought by the EFCC following his arrest at Murtala Muhammed International Airport in December 2024.
- Okechukwu declared only £7,000 out of £15,020 and claimed the undeclared money was for transporting his deceased brother’s body.
- The court ordered the forfeiture of the undeclared sums to the federal government, with fines as an alternative to imprisonment.
